Question 25 – What is CBD isolate? Okay, next question is, what is CBD isolate? CBD isolate, if you’re looking at this on kind of a step, step by step by step of an extraction process, so you go from when you’re making cannabidiol, depending on where the starting point, which is usually going to be completely raw, Or like raw but winterized.

I happen to prefer winterized. I think winterization is a really smart way. But if you’re going to do a raw infusion, raw can also be awesome, and it can get you a really good extract. But it can take, like as an infusion, can take quite a long time. That’s just a starting point. So then, if you’re taking… If you’re taking these crude extracts, if you’re going to, you know, start down that process, and usually it’s done with a solvent, so from that starting point on, you would be hopefully using an organic solvent, preferably corn or something, but, you know, an organic certified solvent.

And it will take crude, like first extract is very crude, second extract is a little bit less crude, third extract is looking pretty good, fourth is right where you would come in with a really good clean distillate, and, and in these two processes you can start to have crystals. That are left over as it’s dried and then those crystals are resubmitted for another extract and then a drying pull.

And then you can get a good full spectrum kind of distillation and a distillate crystal. That’s really similar to what you have for MSM. MSM is done with pine. This is what’s done with hemp. And usually hemp, but you can do it from turmeric, or cacao, or black pepper, holy basil, those also have those in it, but not nearly in the same amounts that industrial hemp does.

And then if you were taking a distillate and you did it one or two more times in that same extraction process, you would wind up with what’s pretty close to an isolate. And an isolate means that you’ve really stripped away any of those other natural… Constituents that are in there, like, you know, it’s peripheral, naturally found items.

Just like, and you would have just only that one version. A really good example would be like, In nature, vitamin C usually is found along with its naturally occurring components, which are hesperidin and rutin and quercetin. But if you’re extracting that out, you can really extract just a whole bunch of quercetin, just a whole bunch of hesperidin, which is almost never done, or rutin.

So an isolate is just a singular extract of an ingredient.
