Question 3-What is industrial hemp? Okay, so to spice it up, in addition to what we are already getting for customer questions, etc, etc, etc, on hemp or health, I decided to try something really fun and load in a whole ton of questions into a chat AI. So I’m going to be interspersing. A hundred fun questions about hemp and health both given to us by people, but also to the stuff that was given to me by Chat AI, and I think it’s gonna be super fun.

So the first question that was generated for Question 3-is what is industrial hemp? Industrial hemp for people that don’t know when you hear the words industrial hemp means that it is separate and Designated much separately from the varieties so medical cannabis, and this is the way we talk about it in the U.S. This is how we have to talk about it in the U.S.

But in the U.S. You have both Industrial hemp, which means a variety of the cannabis sativa or cannabis indica plant that has, like, the industrial variety has no THC or 0. 03 percent THC, which is the federal limit. You know, 0. 03 percent THC or less. THC is regarded as the psychoactive element within cannabis and and hemp.

You know, but we say, usually in the United States, we’ll say industrial hemp to represent the, the different strains and varieties of the cannabis sativa plant that do not have a psychoactive effect and have 0. 03 percent THC or less. And then we’ll say cannabis or medical cannabis. Or recreational cannabis or medical marijuana, whatever.

There’s a few different things. That is the version of the plant that does have sometimes very high amounts of THC and is psychoactive and is available to you as an adult. Like if you’re in California, if you’re 21 and over, you can get it recreationally or you can have a medical card for it, and that’s why people discuss those differently. And one of the other big differences is with industrial hemp, you’re usually utilizing it for omega 3, 6, 9 fatty acids, text I mean for textiles, fibers, etc. And the seeds for protein, food, snacks, all that. With the medical… variety, you’re utilizing that for everything from extracts to things that people smoke, to things that are utilized, and the seeds and textile part is used in industrial hemp, and the fruiting body is almost exclusively what’s used for medical cannabis.
